NEW SKETCHES

Here are some new drawings that I am working with in thinking of some larger paintings in the future. I've been trying to flush out my concepts, as well as the ideas I have about some materials. So, we'll see where it takes me; and I might post some writing soon on what I'm thinking about with these pieces (and just in general lately.)

PHOTOS FROM 'In3s'

I have finally gotten my film developed from the In3s show at artspace liberti from back in September. I had my three big stripe paintings in the show, centered between Matthew Graham Sepielli and Timothy Gierschick. Unfortunately, I am just now getting these up here, and thanks to CVS, the photos came out a little grainy. But, the work looked great all-around, and it was a great turnout. Thanks again to Rob Matthews for putting on the show.

TEACHING CLASSES

http://reduxstudios.org/

Come May of 2011through April, I will be teaching some classes a the local contemporary art center, REDUX, for an adult class and a children's class. Both classes are virtually the same, focusing on Abstract Expressionism, and making paintings in the manner of a different artist each class. I look forward to getting involved with these courses and having some fun with this stuff. Check out the links to learn more.

DRAWING PROJECT UPDATE

THIS+THIS(repeat), the drawing project I'm working on, is still going, and quite nicely I should say. While the time frame seems to have been extended, and I am fine with it at that, from one day max and no less, to a few or a hand full of days, the progress is still quite satisfying. Anyhow, perfection must not be rushed. This project has been keeping me working and furthermore thinking and trying/discovering new and different things. As well, it has been equally interesting and satisfying to see the work that Chloe has been producing in response, which make wonderful pieces on their own. No doubt, this project has been a swell exercise for the both of us. I am still very excited about the project, how far we have come so far, and where it will go in the future.
