SCHOOLED

I will be participating in another three person show this month at Second Space in Philadelphia, along side Ben Weaver and Douglas Witmer. This will also be Second Space's 1st year anniversary at the reception on June 10th, from 6-9 PM. I am really looking forward to seeing all the work up (as well as my own work beside the other two men’s work), and the affect in which it might have collectively. I think it will be a strong show and a great experience. Please come out if you can, and enjoy refreshments and good work.

Here’s where to find it: Second Space Arts at OCMC, 900 E. Howell Street, 2nd Floor
Philadelphia, PA.

Here are three 4x6" pieces that I made for submission to The Postcard Show At the Halsey. Only one was in the show: "Pink & Blue". The turnout was massive, and there were a many a postcard. It was an interesting event.

Here is a drawing/collage that I made to send to a friend of mine studying in France. It was a suprise, so now since she has recived it, I thought I would post it.

FURTHER STILL

Things are coming along. I have been since using my porch as my studio (can't say I dislike it), working out side on my larger paintings, and doing my smaller things—collages and all the rest—in my room. I have a few things going right now ranging from collages to larger paintings, while toying with some new concepts and material ideas. I have a lot to flush out still, but I am very anxious about where this is all going. I hope to have some decent images soon.

Also, I will be participating in a rather large group show at The Halsey come May, called "The Postcard Show: Wish you were here!" Every Artist has made one to several 4x6” pieces (postcard size) to be on display. Without knowing who’s piece is who’s, upon purchase the artist is then revealed to the buyer, keeping it secret throughout this one night exhibition. It should be a very fun and interesting experience. I will post my “postcards” after the show, as to not spoil anything.

NEW COMPLETED WORKS

This weekend was the artist lock in and EYE LEVEL ART, where all 25 artists, including myself, were locked in at 7 pm on Friday night until 3pm the next day. Everyone work very hard throughout the nigh/morning, and I was thoroughly pleased with all the work on display. It was a great experience to be working next to all these artists and getting to know some people, and overall having accomplished something together. The night of the opening, Saturday the 19th, when all the artists had left and the work was hung, the turn out was tremendous and drew a large crowd that stayed consistent throughout the night. Though I must say I was very exhausted throughout the night while working, and into the next day, the work accomplished was well worth it. Collectively I left the lock in having made five pieces—two on canvas, and three on paper. Below I have posted some images of the work I made during the lock in, as well as some links to check out some video and images from the event.
